　　指“廢墟、遺跡”，往往表示建筑物，是可數(shù)名詞

　　意為“古代遺物，遺跡，遺址”，可以是物品或建筑物等，本身為復數(shù)

　　fossil remains of prehistoric animals史前動物的化石

　　還可指“剩余物”或“遺骸，遺體”the remains of the lunch剩下的午飯

　　relic

　　除表示“遺物，遺跡”外，還可指“遺風、遺俗”等文化傳統(tǒng)的遺留物
