　　1. No...not this time round...because it’s the first one...you know. 不，這一次不評分，你知道，因?yàn)檫@是第一次。

　　該句的難點(diǎn)：“this time round”的意思就相當(dāng)于“not this time”。另外“you know”沒有什么具體含義，只是一個口頭禪。

　　2. ...cos not a lot of people know where the islands are...因?yàn)楹芏嗳瞬恢�道那些島嶼在哪里。

　　首先，“cos”是口語中對“because”的省略。另外否定詞在“people”和在“know”前面的意思差不多。

　　3. Dr. White said we shouldn’t go into that sort of detail. White博士告訴我們不要討論那些細(xì)節(jié)。

　　go into是“討論”或者“研究”的意思。

　　4. Nope...that goes in the Language Policy Seminar...don’t you remember?不，那個將在語言政策討論會上講，你不記得了嗎?

　　“that”指的是上文提到的“the role of English language”�！皀ope”是口語中表示否定的一種方式。

　　5. Dr. White said he wanted us to use plenty of visuals and things and we might as well try them out when we’re not being assessed...White博士說他想讓我們多用一些視覺的東西，尤其是在不評分的時候還可以多嘗試一些其他東西。

　　“visuals”指PPT或者其他的視覺設(shè)備。

　　6. ...the islands are going to be more of a problem. 那些島嶼的地圖更加成問題。

　　“more of”的含義是“更大程度上，更多的”。

　　7. Nah...not up-to-date enough!不，不夠新!

　　“up-to-date”的意思是“最新的”。

　　8. Oh...someone is enthusiastic!啊呀，有人相當(dāng)有激情啊!

　　這里有諷刺的意味。
