　　中國人民銀行是人民共和國的中央銀行，人民共和國國務(wù)院組成部門。在國務(wù)院領(lǐng)導(dǎo)下，制定和執(zhí)行貨幣政策，防范和化解金融風(fēng)險，維護(hù)金融穩(wěn)定。1948年12月1日，在華北銀行、北海銀行、西北農(nóng)民銀行的基礎(chǔ)上合并組成中國人民銀行。1983年9月，國務(wù)院決定中國人民銀行專門行使中國國家中央銀行職能。

　　As the central bank of the P.R.C., the People’s Bank of China is an agency under the leadership of the State Council. It develops and implements monetary policies, prevents and defuses financial risks, and maintains financial stability. On December 1, 1948, the People’s Bank of China was founded by merging North China Bank, Beihai Bank and Northwest Farmers’ Bank. In September 1983, the State Council affirmed the mandate of the People’s Bank of China as China’s central bank.
