　　The Zhou dynasty (1046 B.C. – 256 B.C.), which followed the Shang dynasty in Chinese history, can be divided into two periods: the Western Zhou (middle of 11th century to – 771 B.C.) and the Eastern Zhou (770 B.C. – 256 B.C.). The Western Zhou was founded by Ji Fa, King Wu of Zhou Dynasty. In 770BC, the capital was moved to "Geyi", so that the later period was called “the Eastern Zhou”, which was also called as “the Spring and Autumn and Warring States period ” which can be divided into two phases: the Spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period. The Zhou Dynasty is the third and also the last hereditary slavery Dynasty in Chinese history.
