Prominently positioned in the bridge history of China, with the Anji Bridge in Zhao county of Hebei Province, Wan'an Bridge in Quanzhou, and Guangji Bridge in Haiyang county of Chaozhou together called the Four Great Ancient Bridges of China, the wooden arch bridge is held in high international regard. In 2009, the "Traditional construction technique of the wooden arch bridge" declared by Zhejiang and Fujian Province was listed in the second group of China's national intangible cultural heritage.
