　　Located in the northeast part of China, Heilongjiang is a large Asian river which flows through Mongolia, China and Russia. It has sources both in the south and north. The river’s southern source is the Argun River, finally flowing into the Okhotsh Strait in Russia. Because the river is rich in humus, it is black in color and is therefore called "Black Water". In ancient times, Heilongjiang was an inland river and the cradle of Manchu civilization. It boasts abundant water power resources and good navigation conditions.
