　　Central District (also known as Central) is located in the heart of Hong Kong. It is one of the earliest districts that were developed after Hong Kong was made a trading port in the 19th century. Central houses many banks, multinational financial institutions and foreign consulates as well as Hong Kong's government headquarters, the Legislative Council Building and the former Government House. It is Hong Kong's political and economic center, as well as the upscale shopping and business district.
