　　Kongtong Mountain Scenic Spot is located 12 km from western downtown Pingliang, Gansu Province. Therefore, it is featured by temperate semi-humid climate: mild climate, distinguished four seasons and abundant rainfall. It faces Xi’an to the east, connects Lanzhou on the west, neighbours Baoji on the south and borders Yinchuan on the north. With an altitude of the main peak of 2,123m, it served as a fortress from the Guanzhong Area along the ancient silk road. In addition, the topography of the Kongtong Mountain is a type forming earliest among the types of Danxia landform in China, and is a unique natural wonder on the expansive Loess Plateau.
