　　南京博物院是中國三大博物館之一，其前身是1933年蔡元培等倡建的國立中央博物院，是中國創(chuàng)建最早的博物館、中國第一座由國家投資興建的大型綜合類博物館，是大型綜合性的國家級博物館、全國綜合性歷史藝術博物館。南京博物院占地13萬余平方米。另全院設“六所”的研究部門，即考古研究所、文物保護研究所、古代建筑研究所、陳列藝術研究所、非遺保護研究、古代藝術研究所。

　　Nanjing Museum, one of China’s three major museums, dates from the National Central Museum advocated and established by Cai Yuanpei in 1933. It is China’s earliest museum, China’s first large comprehensive national museum invested by the government, and a national comprehensive museum of history and arts. With a floor area of over 130,000 square meters, it sets six institutes, namely institute of archeology, institute of cultural relics protection, institute of ancient buildings, institute of display art, institute of intangible heritage protection and institute of ancient art.
