　　茂腔是流行于濰坊、青島、日照等地的地方戲曲，最初為民間哼唱的小調(diào)，稱為“周姑調(diào)”，又稱“肘子鼓”。茂腔曲調(diào)質(zhì)樸自然，唱腔委婉幽怨，通俗易懂;女腔尤為發(fā)達(dá)，給人以悲涼哀怨之感，最能引起婦女們的共鳴，具有較強(qiáng)的藝術(shù)感染力和生命力。2006年，茂腔被列入第一批國家級非物質(zhì)文化遺產(chǎn)名錄。

　　Maoqiang Opera, popular in Weifang, Qingdao and Rizhao cities, was originally folk songs and tunes. This opera is popular and easily comprehensible, with natural tunes and melodious singing. The female singing is particularly well developed in depicting sadness, easily winning sympathy from women. In 2006, Maoqiang Opera was included in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
