　　“送灶王”又稱“過小年”，是古老的漢族節(jié)日風(fēng)俗。祭灶時要設(shè)立神主，用豐盛的酒食作為祭品。按漢族民間的說法，灶王爺是玉皇大帝派到各家各戶的使者，每年要回“天宮”一次，匯報所在之家本年的善惡忠奸表現(xiàn)情形，每年的農(nóng)歷臘月二十三便是他“上天”的日子，所以人們在這天舉行祭灶儀式為其送行。

　　“Sacrifice to the Kitchen God” is an ancient custom of Han culture. During the sacrifice, a spiritual tablet is honored, and foods and drinks are offered upon it. According to Han folklore, the Kitchen God is the envoy sent to each household by the Jade Emperor. He would return to Heaven to report the activities of good and evil that had occurred in every household over the past year. On the twenty third day of the twelfth lunar month each year, the Kitchen God returned to Heaven, and on this day people would offer sacrifice to him.
