　　Not to speak much is the best way to avoid trouble.

　　This is a good way to make money.

　　 給了我們一些面包吃。

　　We were given some bread to eat.

　　今天我辦公室里由于很多事情要處理。

　　I’ve a lot of things to take care of in the office today.

　　你有開這個門的鑰匙嗎?

　　Have you got a key to unlock this door?  

　　他需要有個住的地方。

　　He needs a place to live in.

　　這不是寫字而是畫畫用的筆。

　　This is not a pen to write with but to draw with.

　　我沒有能談心的朋友。

　　I have not a friend to talk with.  

　　已經(jīng)發(fā)出了讓部隊開始的命令。

　　The order for the army to start has been given.

　　科學為人類服務(wù)的力量是無窮的。

　　The power for science to serve mankind is limitless.  

　　  要你回的那封信放在你辦公桌上。

　　The letter for you to answer is placed on your desk.

　　我想躺下睡覺。

　　I’d like to lie down and go to sleep.

　　在這里你可以隨便說笑。

　　You’re free to talk or laugh here.

　　我急于去問問他這個事。

　　I’m anxious to go and ask him about it.

　　你想現(xiàn)在吃午飯還是再等會兒?

　　Do you want to have lunch now or wait till later?   

　　我們無事可做，只有看看電影院外面的招貼。

　　We had nothing to do except (to) look at the posters outside the cinema.

　　除了胡說八道，他沒別的事干。

　　He had nothing to do except talk nonsense.
