Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay about the impact of the information explosion by referring to the saying “A wealth of information creates a poverty of attention.” You can give examples to illustrate your point and then explain what you can do to avoid being distracted by irrelevant information. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.

  題目要求圍繞著the impact of the information explosion來寫,并給出例證,解釋what you can do to avoid being distracted by irrelevant information.

  Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay commenting on Albert Einstein’s remark “I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.” You can cite one example or two to illustrate your point of view. You should write at least 150 but no more than 200 words.

I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious. Curiosity plays an extremely important role in achieving success. 或者Curiosity exerts a huge impact on one’s life and career.

  (1) Just as the saying goes, ______.

  (2) It is often said that _______.

  (3) An ancient philosopher once stated that _____.

  (1) The saying tells us that ________.

  (2) The saying indicates that _______.

  (3) The saying obviously emphasizes /highlights _____.

  The famous scientist Albert Einstein once stated that “I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.” Simple as the remark may sound, it intends to tell us that the importance of being curious. Being curious contributes greatly to our growth and eventually leads to our success.

  1.總起

  There are several reasons contributing to the correctness of this principle.

  Two factors, from my point of view, could account for the validity of this principle.

  Why, you may wonder, is curiosity so important for our success?

  2.分述

  To begin with, _________.

  Furthermore, _________.

  Two factors could account for the importance of being curious. To begin with, curiosity can be seen as the key to success. Only when one is curious about something will he dedicate himself to it. Take Thomas Edison for example, it was his curiosity that made him invent so many things for the future generations. Furthermore, curiosity provides us with the motivation to go forward and inspires us to learn new knowledge. As Apple Company founder Steve Jobs once said, “stay hungry, stay foolish.”

  Given the factors I have just outlined, I personally argue that 總結(jié)一下文章。

  Given the factors I have just outlined, I personally argue that it is of great necessity for us to keep curious about the world. It is curiosity that may push the world exploration into the next step. Only in this way can we have a better world.

  For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay explaining why it is unwise to put all eggs in one basket. You can give explain to illustrate your point. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.

  Choosing a right strategy can exert a huge impact on our success. An English saying goes like this: Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. What it wants to reveal is that it is unwise to be totally dependent on one resource.

  There are several reasons contributing to the validity of this principle. To begin with, it is rather risky to put all the hope in one place. If one can have a contingency plan, it can deal with the unexpected when it comes to important event. What’s more, focusing on all the aspects at the same time contributes to a more balanced life. Suppose one would like to be admitted into a college. It is of vital importance for him to apply for several colleges. In this way, there is a better chance for him to be admitted.

  Therefore, it is unadvisable to put everything on a single venture. Having a backup plan could help one lead a better life.

  For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay commenting on the saying “Knowledge is a treasure, but practice is the key to it.” You can give an example or two to illustrate your point of view. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.

  第一段:敘述引出;

  第二段:個(gè)人例證;

  It has been widely noted that it is of utmost importance for a man to be equipped with knowledge. Knowledge allows one to understand the history of the world, the secrets of the universe and the stories of celebrities. Consequently, one can consider knowledge as priceless treasure. However, a bellyful of theories but very little experience makes us somewhat bookish. Without much practice, we can hardly make use of knowledge, and hence fail to unlock the treasure of knowledge. As the saying goes, ”Practice makes perfect”.

  As a chemistry student, I have learned virtually all the fundamental principles in the chemical world during my university life. I had felt rather conceited until one day my mom asked me an unexpected question, which had never been taught in textbooks, ”how to wipe off the yellow stain at the bottom of the tea cup”. After a serious thought, I was totally silent and did not have a single clue. Smiling happily, mom showed me how the use vinegar or radish water to eliminate the stain left by tea leaves. Perhaps this method could be attributed to the “acid-base” theory, but how can I possibly not come up with such an idea?

  Based on my personal experience, it is quite obvious that knowledge will be of little use if we do not put it into practice. Rather, we should link what we learn with how we do things. Swimming in the ocean of knowledge, we should consider how to make the water more drinkable.
