　　The Purposeof College Education

　　Nowadays, with the policyof collegeenrollment expansion inChina,higher education is nolonger the privilege only enjoyed byminorities. The past decade has witnessed a steady increase in the percentageof people owning college diploma, from 8.3% to 23.5%.

　　However, every coin has two sides. Everyyear so many graduates pour into the employmentmarket and greatlyintensify the competition in job market. Plenty of themremain unemployed. Consequently, the concept of “uselessness of study”prevails among the people who adoptanegative attitude toward higher education and believe it futile to pursue a degree.

　　As far as I am concerned, the purposeof university education is not only to equip studentswith knowledgeandprofessionalskills, butto cultivatequalified citizenstodealwith variouschallenges with full developed character and talent. Therefore, as college students, we shouldvalue the learning opportunity to perfect ourselves for the future competition.

　　大學(xué)教育的目的

　　現(xiàn)在，隨著高校擴(kuò)招政策的實(shí)行，在中國(guó)高等教育不再僅僅是少數(shù)人的特權(quán)。過(guò)去十年見(jiàn)證了擁有大學(xué)文憑的人數(shù)比例的增長(zhǎng)，從十年前的8.3%穩(wěn)定增長(zhǎng)到了現(xiàn)在的23.5%。

　　然而，任何事物都是有兩面性的。每年如此多的畢業(yè)生涌入就業(yè)市場(chǎng)，加劇了找工作的競(jìng)爭(zhēng)力。他們中的許多人無(wú)法找到工作。所以，在那些對(duì)高等教育采取消極態(tài)度并且認(rèn)為攻讀學(xué)位只是徒勞的人中，“讀書(shū)無(wú)用論”開(kāi)始盛行。

　　我認(rèn)為，大學(xué)教育的目的不僅僅是用知識(shí)和職業(yè)技能來(lái)武裝學(xué)生，而且還要培養(yǎng)合格的公民，以全面發(fā)展的人格和才能處理各種各樣的挑戰(zhàn)。因此，作為大學(xué)生，我們必須珍惜學(xué)習(xí)機(jī)會(huì)，完善自我，來(lái)迎接未來(lái)的竟?fàn)帯?/P>
