　　【例】Christer Fuglesang, the first Swede to go intoorbit, will undertake essential work on the spacestation.

　　I can’t undertake that you will make a profit from thedeal.

　　【用】undertake后面可以接動詞不定式，是“答應(yīng)做…”的意思。

　　2.charitable adj.慈善的;寬厚的，慷慨的

　　【記】聯(lián)想記憶：charit( y)(慈善)+able(…的)--慈善的

　　【例】charitable donation.

　　3.brief adj.簡短的，簡潔的;短哲的 n.概要，摘要，短文

　　【例】The book gives brief outline of the course of his research up till now.

　　in brief : The chairman asked him to give the report in brief.

　　主席讓他做一個簡短的報告。

　　【用】in brief常用于連接兩個句子，表示概括性總結(jié)，意為“簡而言之”。

　　4.commit vt.犯(罪);答應(yīng)負(fù)責(zé)，承諾

　　【記】詞根記憶：com+mit(送)--答應(yīng)送--承諾
