　　Qingming Festival, an important Chinese folk festival, usually falls on April 5th of the solar calendar. The name of this festival was derived from one of the twenty-four solar terms in Chinese lunar calendar, "Qingming". It is said that emperors and officials in ancient China would hold the tomb-sweeping activity on this day, and after the imitation by ordinary people, it generally became the chosen day for sweeping tombs. The custom was designated at the state level as an intangible cultural heritage in 2006.
