　　A Drigung embroidered thangka is a colorful scroll painting embroidered on silk and cloth. It is produced in Maizhokunggar county of Lhasa, and is very unique among numerous categories of thangka found in Tibet. The artisans are in limited numbers as the craft skills have been passed down only within families throughout history. In 2008, the Drigung embroidered thangka was included in the expanded National Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
