　　The Ugly Chinese was written by Bo Yang, a writer from Taiwan, China. It was published in Taiwan, China in 1985, and was reviewed as an annual bestseller in Taiwan. The book is a collection of dozens of essays written by the author, and mainly criticized the deep-rooted bad habits of Chinese people. Various drawbacks of traditional Chinese culture are compared to “Jiang Gang Culture” by the author being anxious for Chinese people to get rid of those bad habits. The author points out that Chinese traditional culture has a kind of virus disease, and that the children and grandchildren are heritably infected on and on.
