　　"Mulan Joins the Army" is a famous story of Mulan, a young woman who disguises herself as a man in order to take her father's place in the army. The Ballad of Mulan was first transcribed in the Musical Records of Old and New in the 6th century. The earliest extant text of the poem comes from the 11th or 12th century anthology known as the Music Bureau Collection.
