　　察舉制是中國古代選拔官吏的一種制度，它的確立是從漢武帝元光元年(公元前134年)開始的。察舉制不同于以前先秦時期的世襲制和從隋唐時建立的科舉制，它的主要特征是由地方長官在轄區(qū)內(nèi)隨時考察、選取人才并推薦給上級或中央，經(jīng)過試用考核再任命官職。

　　The Recommendation System was designed to select officials in ancient China and was established from the first year of Yuan Guang of Emperor Wudi of Han (134BC). It differed from the previous hereditary system in the Pre-Qin Period and the imperial examination system established in the Sui and Tang Dynasties. Its main feature was that the local governor in the jurisdiction could, at any time, select talents and recommend talents to the superiors or the central government, which arranged probationary employment before the official appointment.
