　　The Flourishing Kaiyuan Reign Period refers to the heyday of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty. In his reign of 44 years, Emperor Xuanzong of Tang was known as the following titles: Xiantian (712), Kaiyuan (713-740), and Tianbao (741-756). During the years he was known as Kaiyuan, Emperor Xuanzong of Tang installed capable officials, removed political corruption, reformed the military system, expanded the western border, reinstituted the silk road, vigorously developed the economy, advocated the development of culture, education, and science, and strengthened diplomacy. This created a golden age for the Tang Dynasty, and made it the most powerful country in the world during its time. This is historically known as the “Flourishing Kaiyuan Reign Period”, and lasted for 29 years.
