　　Anxi Frontier Command was the military and political authority for the royal court of the Tang Dynasty to govern Zexi. Anxi Frontier Command exercised control over the four towns of Anxi, with its maximum scope ever covering the whole areas in the Tianshan Mountain and extending to Posia west of Congling. After the division of the frontier command of the northern court in the Wu Zhou Period, Anxi Frontier Command, as a branch frontier command, governed the west regions in the south of the Tianshan Mountain. After the second year of Longshuo, Tibet and the Tang Dynasty repeatedly fought for the four townships of Anxi County, which were abandoned by the Tang Dynasty twice. With many changes of government, the four towns of Anxi were seized successively till the sixth year of Emperor Dezong of Tang.
