　　The HZMB is a cross-sea bridge under construction that will link Lantau Island of Hong Kong, the Macau Peninsula and Zhuhai City of Guangdong Province, with a total length of 49.968 km. On December 15, 2009, the bridge’s construction was officially commenced and it was expected to be open to traffic by the end of 2017. The HZMB is of far-reaching significance to economic and social integration of Hong Kong, Macau and Zhuhai and it is the first large-scale bridge project jointly undertaken by Hong Kong, Macau and Zhuhai under the "one country, two systems” policy framework. It is a milestone in China’s bridge history, and a great feat in bridge engineering.
