　　Yunnan Cuoro (scientific name: Cuora yunnanensis), is a kind of reptile of the tortoise family, Chelonia. With about 140mm long shell, it has a medium-sized head, smooth skin of the head and back, no hooked jaw, lower carapace with three edges and strong edge, large-size breastplate with round anterior margin and dented posterior margin. The back takes on the olive brown or milk chestnut shell color and the margin and edge the yellow white color sometimes. Specific to China, it is known to be only endemic to Kunming and Dongchuan, Yunnan Province. It has been rated as "functionally extinct". Also known as the "special local product in China", it can be said to be a treasure in China and is a wild animal enjoying national second-class key protection.
