　　"Karst landscape", namely the karst, is a general term used to refer to the surface and subsurface formed from the dissolution of soluble rocks. It is characterized by underground drainage systems with sinkholes and caves. South China Karst contains the most significant types of karst landforms, including tower karst, pinnacle karst and cone karst formations; along with other spectacular characteristics such as natural bridges, gorges and large cave systems. It is the most splendid symbol of karst from tropic to sub-tropic areas. It was listed on the World Heritage List in 2007.
