　　長江三峽西起重慶奉節(jié)縣白帝城，東至湖北宜昌市南津關(guān)，沿途兩岸奇峰陡立、峭壁對(duì)峙，自西向東依次為瞿塘峽、巫峽、西陵峽。三峽是由于這一地區(qū)地殼不斷上升，長江水強(qiáng)烈下切而形成的，因此水力資源極為豐富。三峽是中國十大名勝古跡之一，首批國家級(jí)風(fēng)景名勝區(qū)。

　　The Three Gorges spans from Baidi in Fengjie County, Chongqing in the west to Nanjinguan, Yichang, Hubei Province in the east. Along its cross-straits are the fancy vertical cliffs lining the Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge and Xiling Gorge from west to east. Since it was formed due to the continuous rise of the earth’s crust that caused the water of the Yangtze River to flow downward dramatically, it is an abundant water resource. Three Gorges is one of the Top 10 scenic spots and historic sites in China, and also among the first batch of national scenic spots in China.
