　　Tu Youyou, was born on December 30 in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. She is a pharmacologist, the principal researcher at the Chinese Medicine Research Institute and the director of the Research and Development Center of Artemisinin, where she did research on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and the combination of TCM and Western medicine. In October 2015, Tu Youyou was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for discovering a new therapy to cure malaria by using artemisinin. In February 2016, Tu Youyou was awarded the Person of the Year 2015 on the TV program Moving China.
