　　鄧稼先(1924-1986年)是中國著名核物理學家、杰出的科學家，先后畢業(yè)于西南聯(lián)合大學、美國普渡大學。1950年他回到祖國，他參加組織和領(lǐng)導我國核武器的研究和設(shè)計工作，是中國核武器研制工作的開拓者和奠基者，被稱為“兩彈元勛”。鄧稼先在一次試驗中，受到核輻射，身患直腸癌，于1986年在北京不幸逝世。

　　Deng Jiaxian (1924-1986) was a famous Chinese nuclear physicist and outstanding scientist. He graduated successively from the National Southwestern Associated University and Purdue University (The United States). Upon his return to the motherland in 1950, he organized and led the research and design of China’s nuclear weapons. As the pioneer and groundbreaker of the research of China’s nuclear weapons, he is known as the "founding father of two bombs (the atomic bomb and hydrogen bomb)". Exposed to nuclear radiation during a nuclear test, he came down with rectal cancer and passed away in Beijing in 1986.
