　　Li Siguang (1889-1971), whose courtesy name was Zhonggong, was the founder of geomechanics in China and one of the important leaders and a founder of China’s modern geo-science and geological research. Li Siguang founded geomechanics and made excellent research on the significance of the fossil of aeshnidae and stratification, put forward the existence of a Quaternary Glacier in Eastern China, established the new disciplines of "geomechanics" and "tectonic system" concepts and founded the school of geomechanics.
