　　Yangzhou Storytelling is the title of local opera in Yangzhou dialect which starts in the late Ming Dynasty and now is popularized in the middle and north of Jiangsu, Nanjing, Zhenjiang and Shanghai. It is famous for its detailed description, well-knit structure, inclusion, and its complex but clear plots which pursue abundant details, vivid images, distinct personalities and interesting and humorous language. In 2006, it was added to China’s official list for national intangible cultural heritage.
