　　Jingzhou Huagu Opera, originally called Mianyang Huagu Opera, originated in Mianyang City (now Xiantao city in Hubei Province) over 200 years ago. It has become one of the most popular opera genres in the Jianghan Plain area in Hubei Province. With a melodious and sweet tune, its performance expresses not only the colorful lifestyles in Hubei, but the strong flavor of folk life. In 2006, Jingzhou Huagu Opera was included in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
