　　Wu’an Pingdiao Opera and Wu’an Laozi Opera are two types of local operas that originate in Wu’an city in Hebei Province. They are often collectively called Wu’an Pingdiao Laozi Opera because they are usually performed together. This opera is mainly popular in Handan and Xingtai in Hebei Province; Anyang and Xinxiang in Henan Province; as well as Changzhi in Shanxi Province. Wu’an Pingdiao Opera is well known for its melodious singing, smooth rhythm and unique style, while Wu’an Laozi Opera, originally called Lianhualao Opera, is characterized by its beautiful tune, wide and resonant singing, and strong flavor of rural life. In 2006, Wu’an Pingdiao Laozi Opera was included in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
