　　The Laba Festival is a traditional festival of China, sometimes simply called “Laba”. It refers to the eighth day of the last lunar month, during which there is a tradition of worshiping ancestors and gods, as well as praying for harvest. In some areas, it is customary to eat Laba congee on that day. Tradition says that it was the day on which Sakyamuni Buddha found enlightenment, and one of the grand Buddhist festivals, the “Festival of Talisman”, is so named.
