圓明園(Yuanmingyuan Imperial Garden)位于北京西郊，于1708年開始興建。經過幾十年的建造、裝飾和改建，圓明園成為當時世界上最出色的園林之一。圓明園繼承了中國園林建筑的傳統(tǒng)，把不同風格的園林建筑融為一體，充分體現出和諧與完美。除此之外，圓明園在世界園林建筑史上也占有非常重要的地位。遺憾的是，經過幾場戰(zhàn)爭，今天的圓明園只是一片廢墟。

　　2.第2句的賓語“當時世界上最出色的園林之一”可譯為“one of+形容詞的最高級+名詞復數”結構;“當時世界上”置于句末時則要按照英語的表達習慣(地點狀語在前，時間狀語在后)來排列，即 in the world at that time。
