　　Every year on 17 May, the ITU membership around the world, celebrate World Telecommunication and Information Society Day – a day to mark the founding of our Union over 150 years ago.

　　每年的5月17日世界各地的國(guó)際電聯(lián)成員都舉辦慶祝世界電信和信息社會(huì)日的活動(dòng)，以紀(jì)念150多年前國(guó)際電聯(lián)的成立。

　　The theme for 2017 is “Big Data for Big Impact,” which will explore the power of big data for development and examine the opportunities to convert unprecedented quantities of data into information that can drive development.

　　2017年的主題為“發(fā)展大數(shù)據(jù)，擴(kuò)大影響力”，以探討大數(shù)據(jù)在促進(jìn)發(fā)展中的力量，并審視可將前所未有的海量數(shù)據(jù)轉(zhuǎn)化為可促進(jìn)發(fā)展的信息的機(jī)遇。

　　The insight brought about by this analysis of data will enable evidence-based decision-making at national, regional and international levels and help the implementation of all 17 United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals for 2030.

　　通過(guò)分析數(shù)據(jù)而實(shí)現(xiàn)的洞察力有助于在國(guó)家、區(qū)域和國(guó)際層面做出實(shí)事求是的決策，協(xié)助推動(dòng)所有17項(xiàng)聯(lián)合國(guó)2030可持續(xù)發(fā)展目標(biāo)的落實(shí)。

　　It will also be an occasion to take a closer look at the importance of governance and regulation, and the implications for personal privacy and security given the future exponential growth in data and connectivity.

　　亦可借此機(jī)會(huì)進(jìn)一步探討管理和監(jiān)管的重要性，以及在未來(lái)數(shù)據(jù)和連通性呈指數(shù)級(jí)增長(zhǎng)的情況下，對(duì)個(gè)人隱私和安全的影響

　　Countless opportunities will also be identified as we learn to better perfect and harness big data, and understand the impact big data can have as a global good.

　　當(dāng)我們學(xué)會(huì)更好地完善和利用大數(shù)據(jù)并了解大數(shù)據(jù)可對(duì)全球福祉產(chǎn)生的影響之時(shí)，將會(huì)發(fā)現(xiàn)不計(jì)其數(shù)的機(jī)遇。

　　Activities undertaken by the ITU membership will contribute towards building momentum to embrace big data on a global scale and to seize new opportunities to address development challenges.​​

　　國(guó)際電聯(lián)成員所采取的行動(dòng)將有助于打造聲勢(shì)，迎接全球大數(shù)據(jù)時(shí)代的到來(lái)，同時(shí)抓住新的機(jī)遇應(yīng)對(duì)發(fā)展挑戰(zhàn)。
