國際形勢(shì)與外交事務(wù)

　　在國際風(fēng)云變幻中，我國堅(jiān)持獨(dú)立自主的和平外交政策，進(jìn)行了卓有成效的雙邊和多邊外交活動(dòng)，同世界各國和地區(qū)的友好合作關(guān)系不斷發(fā)展，我們堅(jiān)持原則，頂住壓力，維護(hù)了國家主權(quán)、領(lǐng)土完整和民族尊嚴(yán)。我國的國際地位日益提高。

　　Amidst international vicissitudes, China has adheredto an independent foreign policy of peace andconducted fruitful diplomatic activities in bothbilateral and multilateral contexts. Meanwhile, China’s friendly relations and cooperation withother countries and regions have developed steadily. By sticking to principle and resistingpressure, we have safeguarded our state sovereignty, territorial integrity and nationaldignity, thus gradually raising our standing in the international community.

　　和平與發(fā)展仍然是當(dāng)今世界的兩大主題。國際局勢(shì)正在發(fā)生重大而深刻的變化。大國關(guān)系繼續(xù)調(diào)整。多元化的發(fā)展趨勢(shì)日益明顯。國際經(jīng)濟(jì)聯(lián)系日益密切，科學(xué)技術(shù)突飛猛進(jìn)，對(duì)世界政治、經(jīng)濟(jì)和社會(huì)的發(fā)展產(chǎn)生重要影響。在新的國際形勢(shì)下，我們要一如既往地奉行獨(dú)立自主的和平外交政策，進(jìn)一步開創(chuàng)外交工作的新局面。

　　Peace and development remain the two themes of the world today. The international situation isundergoing major and profound changes. Big powers continue to readjust their relations. Thetrend developing toward multipolarity has become increasingly apparent. Internationaleconomic links are getting closer and science and technology are advancing by leaps andbounds, both of which are exerting a profound impact on world political, economic and socialdevelopment. In the new international situation, we will, as always, continue to uphold ourindependent foreign policy of peace and open up new vistas in diplomatic work.

　　中美兩國元首成功的國事訪問，將兩國關(guān)系推向新的發(fā)展階段。我們希望，在中美三個(gè)聯(lián)合公報(bào)和中美聯(lián)合聲明的基礎(chǔ)上，雙方共同努力，求同存異，發(fā)展合作，推動(dòng)兩國關(guān)系取得實(shí)質(zhì)性進(jìn)展。

　　The successful state visits by the heads of state of China and the United States have usheredSino-US relations into a new stage of development. We hope that the two sides can worktogether to seek common ground while putting aside differences and increase cooperation onthe basis of the three Sino-US joint communiqués and the Sino-US Joint Statement so as topromote a new substantial developments in our bilateral relations.

　　中俄關(guān)系繼續(xù)發(fā)展，兩國簽署了《關(guān)于世界多極化和建立國際新秩序的聯(lián)合聲明》，并根據(jù)有關(guān)協(xié)定解決了東段國界的勘界問題。我們要進(jìn)一步擴(kuò)大兩國在經(jīng)貿(mào)、科技等領(lǐng)域的合作與交流，加強(qiáng)在國際問題上的磋商與合作。
