B: That's true, ancient Chinese and literature is hard to understand even for Chinese natives, especially Tang poetry.
A:是嘛?那我倒很感興趣。你能稍微給我介紹一下唐詩嗎?
B: Tang poetry is the highest achievement of the development of poetry in China. It inherits the essence of poetry in Wei and Jin Dynasties. And due to the open culture, clean political environment, as well as the emperors* preference, the poetry of the Tang Dynasty had a great development. One demonstration of that can be found in the special examination of poetry, which was included in the imperial examination system of the Tang Dynasty. And most of the Tang Dynasty poets loved travelling. For example, Li Bai and Du Fu had visited most places of China, which widened their horizons, enriched their themes and imagination. So the poetry of the Tang Dynasty is the peak of ancient Chinese poetry, far beyond the reach of the followers.
