Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying’s Remarks on August 15, 2019

　　問：14日，美國總統(tǒng)特朗普連續(xù)發(fā)推特稱，中國當(dāng)然想達(dá)成貿(mào)易協(xié)議，讓他們先人道地應(yīng)對香港吧。他還提及可能與中國領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人會晤。中方對此有何評論?

　　Q: On August 14, US President Trump said in his tweets that “Of course China wants to make a deal. Let them work humanely with Hong Kong first.” He also suggested a possible meeting with the Chinese leader. I wonder what is China’s comment?

　　答：香港事務(wù)純屬中國內(nèi)政。我們注意到，特朗普總統(tǒng)此前也曾表示，“香港是中國的一部分，他們必須自己解決，不需要建議”。我們希望美方說到做到。

　　A: Hong Kong affairs are entirely China’s internal affairs. As we noted, President Trump also said previously that “Hong Kong is a part of China. They’ll have to deal with that themselves. They don’t need advice.” We hope the US side will keep its word.

　　中方對中美經(jīng)貿(mào)磋商的立場是一貫和明確的。我們希望美方與中方相向而行，落實(shí)兩國元首大阪會晤共識，在平等和相互尊重的基礎(chǔ)上，通過對話磋商找到彼此都能接受的解決辦法。

　　China holds a consistent and clear position on China-US trade talks. We hope the US can work in concert with China to implement the two Presidents’ consensus that was reached in Osaka, and to work out a mutually acceptable solution through equal-footed dialogue and consultation with mutual respect.

　　關(guān)于中美高層交往，中美元首一直通過會晤、通話、通信等方式保持著溝通。

　　Regarding high-level communication, the Chinese and US Presidents have remained in contact with each other via meetings, phone calls and letters.

　　問：今天是日本戰(zhàn)敗紀(jì)念日，日本首相安倍晉三向靖國神社供奉了香火錢，一些內(nèi)閣官員及部分國會議員參拜了靖國神社。中方對此有何評論?

　　Q: As today marks the anniversary of Japan’s defeat in World War II, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe sent a cash offering to Yasukuni Shrine and some cabinet and parliament members paid tribute to it. Does the Chinese side have any comment?

　　答：我們注意到了日方在靖國神社問題上的消極動向。這再次反映出日方一些政要對待歷史的錯誤態(tài)度。我們敦促日方切實(shí)信守迄今表態(tài)和承諾，以實(shí)際行動取信于亞洲鄰國和國際社會。

　　A: We note the negative move relating to Yasukuni Shrine from the Japanese side. This again reflects the erroneous attitude of some senior Japanese politicians toward history. We urge the Japanese side to earnestly honor its commitment and take real actions to win back the trust from its Asian neighbors and beyond.

　　問：據(jù)報道，美商務(wù)部將中廣核等4家企業(yè)列入出口管制“實(shí)體名單”。中方對此有何評論?

　　Q: According to media reports, the US Department of Commerce added four enterprises including China General Nuclear Power Corporation to the department’s “Entity List”. I wonder what is China’s comment?

　　答：中方注意到美國商務(wù)部13日將中廣核有限公司及其下屬3家公司列入出口管制實(shí)體名單。美方此舉泛化國家安全概念、濫用出口管制措施，不僅對中國企業(yè)造成傷害，也對包括美國在內(nèi)的相關(guān)國家企業(yè)造成影響。中方堅決反對美方通過單邊主義和保護(hù)主義政策傷害中國甚至世界各國利益。希望美方認(rèn)清形勢，停止有關(guān)錯誤做法，堅持通過平等協(xié)商解決問題。

　　A: As China noted, the US Department of Commerce added China General Nuclear Power Corporation and its three subsidiaries to the department’s Entity List on August 13. By doing so, the US has abused the concept of national security and the measure of export control. It hurts not only Chinese companies but also businesses of the US and beyond. China firmly opposes the act of the US to undermine the interests of China and other countries through unilateral and protectionist policies. We hope the US will grasp the situation, stop its wrongdoing and stick to equal-footed consultation for a solution.
