　　The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (or AIIB in short) is an inter-governmental, regional and multilateral development institution in Asia, which focuses on supporting infrastructure construction. The purposes of AIIB are to promote the connectivity and economic integration in Asia and to enhance cooperation between China and other Asian countries and regions. The Articles of Agreement of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank were opened for signature in Beijing on June 29, 2015. Financial ministers or authorized representatives of 57 Prospective Founding Members (PFMs) attended the signing ceremony, and 50 PFMs which have gone through domestic ratification procedures officially signed the document. It was agreed that, with the legally prescribed minimum number of countries ratified, the Articles of Agreement will take effect and AIIB will be officially founded by the end of 2015. AIIB will be headquartered in Beijing, China, with an authorized capital of USD100 billion.
