　　一、接機(jī)

　　1.對話

　　A: The flight will arrive at the airport at 15:00 this afternoon. 飛機(jī)將會在今天下午3點(diǎn)抵達(dá)機(jī)場。

　　B: Anybody picks you up at the airport? 有人到機(jī)場接你嗎?

　　A: My secretary arranged it. I just hope the chauffeur will show up. 我的秘書安排了。我只希望司機(jī)能出現(xiàn)。

　　2.知識點(diǎn)歸納

　　pick up 本意是“撿起，拾起”，因此pick sb. up表示“接某人”。 eg: I should have picked Susan up at the train station this morning. 我今天上午本該去火車站接蘇珊的。

　　show up可以表示“使……顯現(xiàn)，清晰”，在這里表示“出現(xiàn)、露面”。

　　eg: I have been waiting for him whole afternoon, but he didn’t show up.

　　我一下午都在等他，但是他就是沒有露面。

　　二、消磨時(shí)間

　　1.對話

　　A: When will the flight take off?飛機(jī)什么時(shí)候起飛?

　　B: At 18:00. I still have one hour to kill. Any recommendations for where to go?6點(diǎn)。我還有一個(gè)小時(shí)要打發(fā)。有什么地方可以推薦給我嗎?

　　A: You can visit these duty-free shops. They are the best places to kill time.你可以去那些免稅店逛逛，那里是打發(fā)時(shí)間的好地方。

　　2.知識點(diǎn)歸納

　　duty-free shop指的是“免稅店”。

　　eg: I bought a gift for you from the duty-free shop before I got on the plane.

　　我登機(jī)前給你從免稅店買了個(gè)禮物。

　　kill time表示“打發(fā)、消磨時(shí)間”。

　　eg: My grandfather likes to kill his time by fishing and gardening after retirement.

　　我爺爺退休后喜歡用釣魚和園藝來消磨時(shí)間。

　　三、倒時(shí)差

　　1.對話

　　A: I'm on the road a lot recently. 我最近總出差。

　　B: That's not bad, you get to see other cities. 那也不錯(cuò)，你有機(jī)會看看其他城市。

　　A: That’s true. But I’m always suffering from jet lag. 是的。但是我總是深受時(shí)差之苦。

　　B: It’s a good idea to spend the first night of your business trip sleeping off the jet lag. 出差的第一個(gè)晚上睡一覺是倒時(shí)差的好辦法。

　　2.知識點(diǎn)歸納

　　on the road表面含義是“在路上”，其實(shí)這里指的就是“出差”，相當(dāng)于on business trip.

　　eg: I’m excited every time when I’m on the road.

　　每次出差的時(shí)候我都很興奮。

　　jet lag指的是“飛行時(shí)差”，“倒時(shí)差”我們可以用overcome/beat jet lag來表達(dá)。
